The EverAvail suite includes complete failover to a hot SteelWorks backup unit. Using SteelCloud’s SyncBeatTM
the units are synchronized every 60 seconds. If an issue occurs, the backup is ready to take over. During failover, the backup BlackBerry®
Enterprise Server is automatically put into production within seconds of an issue detected in the primary unit. It is transparent and seamless to the
users and failover or disaster recovery downtime is reduced to an absolute minimum. It also provides an advanced “snapshot” image backup that allows a
recovery from any system fault to a known “good’ state. If there is a problem, you can restore the system to a previous “snapshot”, even if Windows fails.
SteelCloud has taken its years of developing Windows-based appliances and designed SteelWorks to reduce downtime due to Windows patching. For disaster
recovery, an automated and scheduled back-up of critical BlackBerry Enterprise Server information is saved to a secure, customer defined location.
During normal operations the Standby unit is monitoring the health of the Primary SteelWorks unit and SyncBeat is synchronizing the databases every 60 seconds.

In the event of a disruption to the primary SteelWorks® unit, EverAvail monitors and detects the issue then instructs the standby unit to become the Primary
SteelWorks® unit with virtually no interruption to service.
It’s important to note here that we’re using SQL Server Express which is included with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
v5.0 rather than SQL Server. Our motive was economic in that the SQL Server architecture requires an additional three servers, plus the two BlackBerry
Enterprise Server servers. We accomplished the same goal, providing the same High Availability while using only the two BlackBerry Enterprise Server
appliances. Of course, if you wish to employ the centralized SQL Server implementation, you can do so in accordance with BlackBerry Enterprise Server
v5.0 standard procedure while still enjoying the simplified and standardized benefits of a SteelWorks BlackBerry solution deployment.

When the issue is fixed and the other unit is back online, EverAvail ensures the unit which was once the primary becomes
the standby and monitors the health of the primary unit, switching roles. It will remain on standby until failover is triggered and the process repeats.
EverAvail is available for immediate delivery and of course includes the replicated SteelWorks appliance unit.
So, all that’s required is the Standby SteelWorks appliance configured with your Primary appliance and you’ll be
established with an EverAvail High Availability BlackBerry Enterprise Server hosted solution, all for less than an additional $2500 for each BlackBerry
